Before working with Tom, I felt like I was stuck in the same cycle every year—another training programme to lose the weight I’d put back on since the last one. This was my fourth attempt in four years, and I was determined to make this time different as I wanted to be the Dad I imagined I would be for my little girl.
One of my biggest worries going in was injuries. I’d been injured before, and it knocked me out of training for a while. Tom helped me focus on the stuff I’d always overlooked—warming up properly, strength training, and giving extra attention to areas that needed it, like my knees.
Mentally, starting out felt great—I knew I was finally doing something about it. Physically, it wasn’t easy, but I just took it one session at a time. I’ve always liked 45-minute home workouts because they don’t take over my day, and with Tom’s help, I could stick to that. At first, I went too hard on cutting calories, which left me feeling drained and tired, but Tom quickly sorted me out. He showed me how to fuel myself properly without undereating, and within a few weeks, I could see and feel the difference. Consistency, training, eating, and hydration—it was structured.
Over the months, the results have been unreal. I started at 88kg back in March 2024, and now I’m down to sub 80kg, sitting just over 7% body fat. I’ve gained muscle while losing fat, so I’ve lost the right kind of weight. On top of that, I’ve finally quit smoking, which is massive for me.
The biggest thing I’ve learned is how to balance everything. My training now is three days on, one day off, and I mix it up with HIIT-style sessions at home, runs, and heavier gym workouts. I’ve also learned not to starve myself like I used to. Dropping to 1,600 calories for weeks on end just isn’t realistic.
But honestly, the best thing about working with Tom is he genuinely cares. He’s not just ticking boxes or giving you a cookie-cutter plan—he actually wants to help in every way possible. It’s not just about the training; it’s about everything else that comes with it.
